What do you do with a solid brass unicorn? DIY it of course! Brass might be coming back in style but I’m definitely not a fan of it. At the same time as the unicorn, I also scored a small tray with gold trim at the thrift store. The unicorn I painted all pink except for the base and the tray I painted the inside. I thought the pink and gold contrasted nicely. This was a really quick, easy project with big impact and cost next to nothing to make. Brass ornaments like these can be found in almost every thrift store for a few dollars and any of the pearl paint colours would look fantastic on them.

All I used was a paint brush and three coats of Martha Stewart Pearl paints. I cannot express how much I love her line of craft supplies.
